The red scaffolding that imitates the colour of poppies, which then leads to an interior that contrasts the sombre atmosphere of a memorial (lower/underground floor) to that of the atmosphere of everyday domestic life (upper/ground floor). A memorial to the ANZAC soldiers for the purpose of pointing out how the sacrifices made is the reason we are able to live our everyday suburban lives.
The upper/ground floor is set up as a domestic scene of people sitting at a dining table with the figures and furniture having a chrome finish that would create a reflection of the visitors. Unlike the glass walls which are clear, the glass floor is red (similar to the colour of poppies). The purpose of this is for when visitors are in the underground are where the memorial is, the natural light that shines through the red glass will create a red tint in the room as a reminder of the domestic scene that was seen before, hence the purpose of pointing out how the sacrifices made is the reason we are able to live our everyday suburban lives.
