A bike ferry terminal at Silo Park embraces sea level rise. Instead of resisting nature, the transport hub is designed to be radically ephemeral.
The environmental strategy is to design for a complete circular economy – mycelium panels will naturally erode over time, while steel can be disassembled and recycled.
Existing silo towers have been repurposed for bike storage and services. A new pavilion is inserted above a partially excavated bit of reclaimed land, allowing the harbour to flow in and under the terminal.
