This wall design at an existing Playcentre site in Queenstown explores the potential to aid the development of young children. It intends to connect the classroom with the playground by challenging our preconceptions of how a wall should be. I wanted the ease of transition to mimic the environment outside; one side provides an easy transition from the inside to outside, whereas the other explores a more gradual and hidden approach. The structure provides for plenty of structural, creative and social interactions as well as a general urge to explore and learn.
