The Horrocks house appears from the street as if hidden and consumed by the heavily landscaped gardens around it. On closer view though the nature surrounding is just that; surrounding, never given permission to make contact with the physical house.
The intervention I am proposing will attempt to bridge the disconnect between the landscape and house. Through a scaffolding design attached to the external walls, weaving pipes will form a supporting frame for plants, rising from the street as an untamed hill. Even after the eventual collapse of the house I envision this scaffolding to stay, creating a shell of nature where the building previously was. Evidently an important part of this design is time, speculating on how this structure and piece of land would change overtime, as nature grows engulfing the house and spreading into bordering properties.
