Situated in South Auckland at Fletcher Living’s ‘Waiata Shores’ development, The Intermedial is a project for 100 houses and 2 community buildings. Applying the concepts of boundary and threshold through every scale of the project – from furniture to masterplan – the scheme aims provide a progressive model for multi-residential housing. Emphasis is given to the creation of ‘architectural moments’ within the houses through refined use of form and material, with the aim of enriching the domestic experience. The masterplan attempts to encourage an authentic sense of community through unique shared spaces and interrelationships between units.
